PLAN YOUR ROUTE

Once you've decided where you want to go, find out the best way(s) to get there - whether it be via highways or back roads (or both), consider the amount of time you have for the trip so you can fit everything in.

BRING A MAP

The AAA TripTik® is an easy and convenient guide to any road trip. Stop by your local AAA store, or visit the website (www.aaa.com) and they'll create a TripTik® with all the information you'll need to navigate your route.

CHECK THE WEATHER

Take a moment to pop your destinations into Weather.com (or another weather site) to find out what you can expect when you get there and to know what to expect on the road. Pack clothes you can layer as the climate may vary along the way.

KNOW WHERE YOU WANT TO SLEEP

If you're a person who likes to have a plan, it may be best to target stopping points before you leave and make hotel/motel reservations in each city or town. Or if you're up for a little adventure, you may choose to play it by ear and look for a nearby motel at the end of your driving day.

TUNE UP YOUR CAR

Whether you're driving or riding shot gun with your friend, take a peek under the hood and make sure the car's in good shape to hit the road!

PACK YOUR TUNES
